Home is a theme we visit often in our work. Here are a collection of photos from different projects, including Express Yourself, an Auckland based project which ran from 2013 – 17, led by Toi Ora Trust. Express Yourself used creative participation to support 13-24 year olds who were experiencing challenges with mental health and addictions to connect with others, and develop their strengths and resources to ‘feel good and do well’. Express Yourself was co-designed by young people, arts, health and education workers. 

 

Home and ideas of our different backgrounds is also a subject close to Asha’s heart and one that she revisits in her own artwork. These photographs also depict the workshops that were coupled with her exhibitions to invite families to make houses and consider home together.
