I am a self-taught photographer from West Auckland who uses my camera to document everyday moments and ideas that interest me. I have exhibited locally and internationally. My work has been published in several publications, and I am a member of an international photography collective. I am passionate about community and youth work and love gently encouraging even the most reserved youth into a place where they blossom through their creative expression and become more confident in what they can do.
I’ve been lead artist and mentor on Humans of Hendo for the past three years, a youth-led project at Target Education, an Alternative Education Centre in West Auckland for young people removed from mainstream education. HOH (Humans of Hendo) uses photography and storytelling to build educational achievement, leadership and positive connections between young people in Alternative Education and the wider Henderson community in West Auckland. See more about HOH here.
I’ve also been involved in other youth mentoring projects, including Manawa Ora (a Nga Rangitahi Toa project), and various Express Yourself (youth mental health) projects.
